The last day of summer

Today I went into town and hang out with my boyfriend. The newspaper said that today will be the last really warm day and that we can expect the temperature to drop to 10 degrees Celsius. Puurrr, cold! We decided that today was a day to be outside and enjoy the last sun we can get before the dark winter comes ūüėČ

We visited Skansen, which is one of the places you should visit when you come to Stockholm. It is like a zoo almost, with lots of Nordic animals and other animals too, and also a place where you can see how people used to live in Sweden in the old days. ¬†Don¬īt forget to visit the bakery and by something sweet to yourself! My favorite is a kind of bun filled with apple sauce. Yummy! Skansen never gets boring, even though I have been there a hundred times by know.

In order to get to Skansen we took the ferry from Slussen over to Djurgården. It is a nice but short trip by boat! Much nicer than taking the trams that are stuffed with people.

Then after Skansen and all the cute animals we walked in town and ate lunch/dinner at a placed that did these great hamburgers with lots of vegetables and cheese and bacon on them. I ended the day with going to the choir practice that I have started again with  since there is no longer any IB to think about.

Garden work

Today I was outside and planted some flowers to get som color to the¬†surroundings. While doing so I got a visitor, a grass snake. Grass snakes are one out of two different types of snakes that we have in Sweden and they are completely harmful (at least to us human, but if I was a frog I would watch my back). He/she was quite cute but after my snake-nightmare one week ago I try to keep a distance to them. I have never been afraid of them, but now I don’t like to look or the feeling they give me xd

This is the type of things I do now when IB is done; trying to find meaningful work to do! It is not that easy, so¬†in between¬†the “hard work”, I plan for my parties ūüėÄ This saturday I will have a party for my friends to celebrate graduation and my birthday. On the menu are mini-pies ¬†with Feta cheese and tomatoes, Focaccia, pasta salad, and cappuccinobrownies and lemon-elder-pie for dessert. However, I’m still planing and if anyone as an amazing recipe to share with my they are more than welcome. I’m looking for delicious cold food that are easy to serve at parties.

Kulturnatt Stockholm

Last nigh me and my siblings went into town for the evening and participated in an event called “Kulturnatt Stockholm”. It is an event where they want to pay attention to culture in Stockholm, so a lot of museums were open and special tours and events took place at them. The event started at 6 pm and continued until 12pm. Everything was free and you could easily go by bus or boat to all the places that were open.

Fåfängan

I stared the evening at “F√•f√§ngan”, looking at the sunset and waiting for my siblings.

Spårvägsmuseet

At first we visited the tramway museum in Stockholm to see a theater group guiding us through Stockholm in different times by singing and acting. My siblings saw the opportunity to become construction workers.

LegoNK

The museum also had a cool exhibition where they showed different places in Stockholm, made of Lego. Here is the department store called “NK”.

Veteranbuss1

After some waiting, due to one of the old busses stopped working, one bus arrived and we could go on a ride through Stockholm. Our first thought was to take the bus directly to Slussen, by my brother thought it would be funnier to go on a longer ride. We ended up sitting on  the bus until it was back at Slussen, after going around the whole town.

Syskon

My siblings, having a good time ūüôā

Say bye-bye to the bus!
Gevalia

My sister is enjoying both her and my cup of free coffe.

Pasta+godisglassWhen we arrived home after a fun evening my siblings wanted ice that tasted like candy. Lucky for me, I could get some of the left-overs from the dinner, pasta and tomato sauce. This was 11pm xD But I was hungry and the pasta tasted very well!

Easter Potpourri

I just wanted to share a few photos to show how I celebrated Easter this year. Pictures are more important than words, so there is no use with me talking and talking about it xD

Interview with Hurts about special food memories

Here is a link to a short interview done by a Swedish radio station where they interview Hurts and talk about their food memories from different countries. The Swedish supermarket is referred to as being  Amazing, Revelation and Beautiful according to Adam and Theo. They compare it to supermarkets in Britain where they only have one sort of muesli while in Sweden we have one section just for muesli xD

They are such amazing guys that you need to love, Enjoy!
