The last day of summer

Today I went into town and hang out with my boyfriend. The newspaper said that today will be the last really warm day and that we can expect the temperature to drop to 10 degrees Celsius. Puurrr, cold! We decided that today was a day to be outside and enjoy the last sun we can get before the dark winter comes ūüėČ

We visited Skansen, which is one of the places you should visit when you come to Stockholm. It is like a zoo almost, with lots of Nordic animals and other animals too, and also a place where you can see how people used to live in Sweden in the old days. ¬†Don¬īt forget to visit the bakery and by something sweet to yourself! My favorite is a kind of bun filled with apple sauce. Yummy! Skansen never gets boring, even though I have been there a hundred times by know.

In order to get to Skansen we took the ferry from Slussen over to Djurgården. It is a nice but short trip by boat! Much nicer than taking the trams that are stuffed with people.

Then after Skansen and all the cute animals we walked in town and ate lunch/dinner at a placed that did these great hamburgers with lots of vegetables and cheese and bacon on them. I ended the day with going to the choir practice that I have started again with  since there is no longer any IB to think about.

Malmk√∂ping – The rolling museum and a second home

Malmköping 1

I might have told you once or twice about my interest in trams and my involvement in the tramway museum in Malmköping.  Anyway, this weekend I visited Malmköping since we had our annual junior camp-reunion. We had a blast! Around 55 people were active during these two days, since Saturday was a day with extra activities to celebrate the annual Day of Trams. Not only did we offer tours with the trams, we also had two veteran buses that was driving people around Malmköping. Everyone helped with what there skills could offer. Most of the children from the junior camp, where I am a leader, sold tickets on board and guided our guests. I do that too, but I am also responsible for the security on the trams. Then we have of course the people driving the trams and buses, technicians fixing old trams and people cooking food for us. We are like a big family and everyone feel welcome.

We do not only work all day long, we also have a lot of fun. By looking at the picture to the left, showing my boyfriend, may give you a hint of all the crazy stuff that happens.

I can’t say that I am a huge fan of trams, but I enjoy being in Malmk√∂ping and working with trams. Each day I learn something new and my interest is growing. It is no common for girls, especially young girls, to have a hobby that includes trams. The most common member of the Swedish tramway society is typical a man 60+. So we can need as many young people we can find. Therefor is the junior camp so important and I have been a part of them since I was 12 years old. And now I see Malmk√∂ping as a second home almost. It is not at all weird that Malmk√∂ping feels like home since often whole families are active. My sister and brother are for example also active.

Malmköping is beautiful in the summer.

At midsummer we take a tram out on the track and then we eat herring and strawberries.

During the camp we organize fun games that involve trams.

It is truly a family activity. My and my siblings in 2010.

Weddings can be arranged to. Why have a car when you can go by tram to your ceremony?

A computer = I’m Back

Hi, everyone!

It has gone three month since my last post…..shame on me! However, I have been without a computer since I had to give back my wonderful Macbook to my high school. It was a sad moment, but when thinking back I now know that I had no need of the computer during the summer. I have had time to focus on activities that do not include a computer.

Hopefully I will be back for good now…I just need to find that sparkle to help me write. There should not be any problem, the motivation is already there!

This autumn college starts for me and I am so excited and nervous xD 2 more weeks of the summer and then it all starts.

See you soon!

Garden work

Today I was outside and planted some flowers to get som color to the¬†surroundings. While doing so I got a visitor, a grass snake. Grass snakes are one out of two different types of snakes that we have in Sweden and they are completely harmful (at least to us human, but if I was a frog I would watch my back). He/she was quite cute but after my snake-nightmare one week ago I try to keep a distance to them. I have never been afraid of them, but now I don’t like to look or the feeling they give me xd

This is the type of things I do now when IB is done; trying to find meaningful work to do! It is not that easy, so¬†in between¬†the “hard work”, I plan for my parties ūüėÄ This saturday I will have a party for my friends to celebrate graduation and my birthday. On the menu are mini-pies ¬†with Feta cheese and tomatoes, Focaccia, pasta salad, and cappuccinobrownies and lemon-elder-pie for dessert. However, I’m still planing and if anyone as an amazing recipe to share with my they are more than welcome. I’m looking for delicious cold food that are easy to serve at parties.

Some days you are just not feeling it.

My sister and I went tram-spotting today in town because of the annually Tram-day. It is¬†organized¬†by the Swedish tram society. They take out old trams, busses and boats. I gotta say that we did not see many trams, mostly it was rain and more rain. When the tram finally come the excitement was gone. We were wet and felt that this was one of the days that you should have stayed at ¬†home. ¬†Well at home, when the rain continued to pour down the negative thoughts kept swimming around. But then I said to my self “Shape up, Sister”! The rain may keep on falling but there is always a tomorrow and a sun that will rise. Stop feeling sorry for yourself! The day may not have turned out as you wanted it to, but you still got to meet your sister and taste the new ice creme from GB. ūüėČ

Semifinals Sweden vs Finland

Semifinals Swe-FinNo it is time for the first semifinal in ice-hockey between Sweden and Finland which takes place in Globen, Stockholm. You go and win now Sweden!!!!!!!!!!! I’m watching this for my brother who decided to be in church rather than watching the game….yes, he is weird ūüėČ

And the result…Sweden won with 3-0, and this means that we are in the final! Wihooooo! ūüėÄ

Tonight it is time for Eurovision in Malmö, a perfect ending of a perfekt Ib free day!

Freedom…Or What?

IB is finally over! Today I had my last exam, paper 3 in Chemisty, and from the moment we were asked to stop writing I couldn’t stop smiling. Knowing that all the hard work I put down during these 2 years are finally done and have hopefully paid off…it’s just a great feeling.

Still, I have a hard time grasping what this means. I feel this emptiness inside me and I do not know what to do. I have a list of hundreds of things I want to do, but where to start? I want to spend time outside and enjoy the summer that is coming, read a lot of books, for example Game of thrones, watch tv-series over and over again (I will continue write about the episodes of Criminal Minds and Supernatural where I left off)…maybe the best thing will be to wake up every morning without having any anxiety at all!¬†Well, I needed to start somewhere, so I have now for a while watched all the highlights over and over again from yesterdays hockey game between Sweden and Canada. I love wasting my time on nothing¬†¬†xD

However, Is this freedom? I love having a¬†schedule to follow and functions best when everything is planed. What¬†happens¬†when I can do whatever I want? honestly, I may regret saying this, but I promises that after a couple of days I will be bored. IB is hell, yes, but it is also so much more. IB prepares you for studies on universities better than most other schools. You know that even though the exam did not go very well you still have learnt a lot. There is a special¬†atmosphere¬†around IB too, it is a¬†community¬†that comes together through this struggle. IB memes are an example of this where they put up jokes about IB that is soooo true, and mostly only IB students understands them. I’m going to miss my classmates a lot since there is a specially type of people¬†choosing IB. No normal or healthy¬†person chose IB freely. So I guess we are a bunch of weirdos, however the smartes and best weirdos I know !

This is another chapter of my life that I’m done with and it’s not going to be easy to leave it. It has given me so many good memories and knowledge. Now I am looking forward to what’s next. In July I will receive the results from exams and also be informed wether I have gotten in to any universities in Sweden. Exciting, Exciting…..I’m so going to watch Supernatural for the whole weekend B)
